Intestate: when one dies without a will
Executor/Executrix: the person named in a will who is to handle the
administration of an estate
Administrator/Administratrix: the person who petitions the court to
handle the administration of an estate
Letters Testamentary: a document issued by the probate court vesting
powers in the executor/executrix
Letters of Administration: a document issued by the probate court
vesting powers in the administrator/administratrix
Leave to Sell: an order from the probate court permitting the sale of
a particular parcel of real property
